Our Partnership with Parents

At Little Sparks Nursery, we believe that parents are a vital part of each child’s learning journey. We work in close partnership with families to create a nurturing, supportive environment where every child can thrive. By fostering strong relationships and open communication, we ensure that each child’s care and education is consistent, personalised, and deeply rooted in their individual needs.

  • Working Together from the Start

Before your child begins their journey with us, we hold ‘All About Me’ meetings to get to know you and your child. These meetings help us gain a holistic understanding of your child’s background, routines, and interests, so we can make their transition into nursery as smooth and comforting as possible.

From day one, our Key Person system plays a central role in building trust and supporting your child’s development. Your child’s key person will be your main point of contact, ensuring continuity of care and encouraging two-way communication between home and nursery.

  • Ongoing Communication and Involvement

We understand how important it is for parents to feel connected to their child’s day. That’s why we provide access to a parent app, where you can receive real-time updates on your child’s eating, toileting, sleep, and daily activities. You can also use the app to share your own photos, observations, and comments — helping us build a complete picture of your child’s development, both at nursery and at home.

Throughout the year, we send home fun tasks and activities that link to our nursery themes and celebrations, giving families the opportunity to get involved and extend learning beyond the classroom.

  • Celebrating Progress Together

We hold termly parent evenings to discuss your child’s progress, celebrate their achievements, and talk about how we’re supporting their learning through carefully planned, differentiated play. These meetings are also a great opportunity to discuss ways to support your child at home and work together to close any gaps in learning.

Additionally, we regularly host Stay and Play sessions, where parents are invited into nursery to join in with activities, see the learning environment, and share in the joy of their child’s day-to-day experiences.

Keeping Your Little Ones Safe

At Little Sparks, we take safety and security very seriously.

All staff are DBS checked and are on the regular update service.

We have cameras fitted throughout the nursery that ensure both staff and children’s safety. Our Nursery Manager can readily check the CCTV footage if an issue was to arise.

Entry to Little Sparks is via a secure front door which is answered by a member of staff, via an intercom system.
